Licensed Psychologist

How I work: Hi there! I’m excited you found me. My name is Dr. Danielle Miller, and I am a licensed Clinical Health Psychologist located in Connecticut. Having this role is a lifelong dream. Each day, I find myself humbled by what my patients share with me and by having the opportunity to connect in the meaningful ways that psychotherapy offers. Working as a psychologist, especially with adults coping with health concerns, is a privilege. I hope I have the opportunity to connect with you and guide you towards living an empowered, dignified, and meaningful life.

Focus areas include:

  • Cancer Diagnosis & Treatment

  • Weight Management (surgical, medical)

  • Women’s health

  • Sexual health

  • Chronic Pain & Illness

  • History of Solid Organ Transplant

  • Preparation for/adjustment following Surgical Procedures (e.g., bariatrics/transplants)

Working with me is never a one-size-fits-all experience. I am intentional to build authentic relationships with patients by honoring their personhood. I also encourage holding multiple truths at the same time – for example, it’s okay to be both resilient and struggling with a serious medical diagnosis. I invite patients to occasionally bring a partner or loved one into a session should that be helpful. My therapeutic approach entails cognitive-behavioral strategies, integration of healthy lifestyle behaviors, reconnecting with your values and sources of meaning, and building a strong bond in the space we share together. You can also expect humor and genuine conversations to make you feel comfortable and to make therapy something you look forward to. I can be reached directly at danielle@nchpsych.com.

About Me: My graduate training started at Ball State University in Muncie, IN (a town frequently referenced in Parks & Rec!). Each clinical placement was strongly health-oriented, including a cancer center and interdisciplinary clinic serving adults seeking bariatric surgery. I completed my predoctoral internship as a Behavioral Medicine Fellow at Yale School of Medicine, where I received exceptional supervision from expert health psychologists. Finally, my clinical fellowship at Hartford Healthcare/ Institute of Living allowed me to continue refining my skills in oncology, transplant, bariatric medicine, and women’s health. I’ve also engaged in specialized trainings that span the spectrum of healthcare, including oncofertility, lifestyle medicine, food as medicine, and bioethics.

I’ve now stepped into my full-time role at Greenwich Hospital through the Yale New Haven Health System. Interdisciplinary collaboration has been central to my work and ethos as a health psychologist. I believe working as a team is the best approach to dignified patient care.

Outside of work, I love doing any and all Peloton classes (favorites are Tunde, Cody, Katie, Jess Sims), spending time with my husband and dog (and soon-to-be daughter!), flower gardening (dahlias, sunflowers, and roses are my greatest passions), finding and making the best iced matcha, reading, and exploring coffee shops and bookstores
